Hello my readers, here I am to bring you my review about
ClockWork Investment (finally lol).
I know it got a bit delayed, but I was expecting to receive a reply from Admin to two questions I had, basically asking for a bigger “proof” of their tradings. So far I haven’t received these answers, but I hope the Admin decides to reply me in future :)
A bit of story: I have already “met” this program when it was launched, on hyipnewsonline's old forum, and also at that time I “shouted” some questions to Andi, and he answered most of them quite nicely, although not the best questions because I was a bit newbie to managed Forex accounts.
FXEuro admin gave me enough proofs (because George does the trades itself) at that time so I decided to stay with FXEuro and ignored
CWI, which was just a fresh program.
But, my path would cross again with CWI, and a couple weeks ago Andi decided to contact me for advertising. Of course I shouted again some questions, but this time I was better “armed” with more knowledge about managed Forex accounts, and Forex in general.
And surprisingly, Andi gave me good answers, and he was very open to my opinions. Overall, I had a good impression of it. Not only Andi showed some knowledge in Forex field, but he also took the necessary measures to protect members money from being scammed by the traders. And CWI is 51 days old, adding a bit more credibility to it than the first time I met it, mainly when it offers plans short as 5 business days.
Talking about the admin, he is not an unknown person (other thing I didn’t know in the first time I met him), but the opposite. Andi is a moderator at
GoldenTalk forum, and seems to be well known among members of this forum, and he provides exceptional support there.
But being know doesn’t guarantee us nothing, because I have seen I have seen “known” people scamming. However it adds a bit credibility, and from what I have read in GoldenTalk forum, it appears this project was well planned months before the launch.
But enough of this introduction and let’s move the review of the program itself.
As you should be aware,
ClockWork Investment is a hyip which claims to be backed by real Forex trading . About these claims…they will be analyzed in Sustainability topic.
About the plans, ClockWork Investment offers a
good variety of plans, covering all potential pockets out there:
-newbie: gives 0.8% each business day, with 5 business days of locktime. Min: 1$
-Begginer: 1.1% daily, in business days, with 15 biz days of locktime. Min here is 10$
-Intermediate: 1.3% daily, as usual only on business days. The locktime here is 20 business days and the minimum is 50$
-Expert: 1.6% each biz day. Locktime of 30 business days and minimum of 100$
-Advanced: 1.8% daily profit, with 40 business of locktime. And the minimum here is a whooping 500$.
All plans don’t expire, and you can withdraw the principal at any time after the lock time. Oh and you deposit must be manually activated by admin. Why? Because the admin kept in mind the time needed to move funds from LR to FXOpen. Although this is not important for long-term plans, like those offered by FXEuro, but this is essential for a program offering plans short as 5 days, and every hour here is important,
IF it is really backed by Forex!! So +1 for credibility.
I think plans are quite balanced, each one offering its pros and cons, for example the newbie plan is good to place some funds for a quick profit, depositing on Saturday, and withdraw one week after, with 4% profit. And I like the concept of “no expiring” and being able to withdraw at any time after the locktime.
And you can request withdraw of your principal before the end of locktime, with a relatively small fine of 10%. Another welcomed feature.
Now let’s move to my
systematic analysis:Design- Well I must tell the design is quite nice. Ok I am lying, the design is away better than the average. Maybe it’s because it’s simplicity, without Forex charts and others craps I see in other programs claiming to be involved with Forex. Everything was going good…and BAM…I noticed the text in “about us” page below the link to plans, is exactly the same you can find on
http://gcaforex.com. This is a suspicious site, because I never heard about it, and searching on google gave me little information. But the main question: who copied who? Checking on
web.archive we can see this text was already there in 2008, so CWI copied it, or the designer wasn’t too creative. So it’s -1 for CWI’s credibility.
FAQ is also a bit generic, and privacy page is a exact copy of
this page, although this doesn’t concerns me because these pages are equal to almost every site I visit lol. Still the designer could be a bit more creative.
Conclusion: design is a mixed bag, the design itself is good, but the content could be much more original. So I will give
3/5 to design.
Script/security- Vinny, at OIG says the script appears to be a customized Orohyip script. But admin told me the script was build from the scratch. So who is right? I think I will take the admin side, because the script is quite different from the usual, and I think I never saw the “manual activation of deposit” feature in past and actual hyips. So +1 for CWI, because a custom script shows the commitment of admin (it’s expensive than a commercial script, and it needed some time to be done and tested).
Another good feature is SSL connection, and it’s not the usual SSL certificate we find on most hyips, but an EV (extended validation) SSL certificate, offering even more security. Again +1 to CWI.
The site is hosting is provided by GoDaddy, and I can’t tell you if it is dedicated or not. Checking the whois it appears to be dedicated, because the server IP only has two domains from CWI, .net and .com, however GoDaddy offer dedicated hosting IP: “A Dedicated Hosting IP means each web hosting account has a unique address, not shared by any other accounts on the same server.”. So it’s difficult to tell you if the admin is using this service or a real dedicated server. As long it stays online it’s ok for me.
As I mentioned above, CWI has two domains registered, to avoid phishing sites, so it’s +1 for security.
So the overall score for this
topic will be 4.5/5.Support- Andi always answered quickly to all my emails, except the last lol. He is also very active on GoldenTalk forum, providing support to members there. It also offers the typical ticket system and e-mail. But it doesn’t ends here…CWI also offers a “wall”, similar to a shout-box and live chat when the admin is online. There is also a phone and cell phone displayed on contact us page, but I can’t confirm if they are real or not, but at first glance they appear to be German numbers, matching Andi's nationality (he is from Germany).
So the support is well covered, thus the score will be 5/5.
Payment Processors- it only accepts LR, but for the first time I think it is a good thing, because if they indeed have Forex business, with FXOpen, which accepts LR, it makes admin life much easier managing just one pool of funds, bringing stability to this project. Andi also told me he asked
CWI members if they wanted another PP, like AlertPay (which is also accepted by FXOpen), but it appears the actual members are happy with just LR. My opinion here: I also think LR is enough, mainly if they are really doing Forex trading.
My score here is………………………… N/A lol, I can’t give an exact score here.
Sustainability- the dark topic for every hyip, and the most important. Let’s start with the Forex claims…in my first emails I got a handful of
good impressions from Andi:
-he has some good knowledge about Forex managed accounts;
-the FXOpen accounts belong to him, and the traders are only able to “trade” and not able to withdraw any funds…so there isn’t the risk of being scammed by traders;
-he has in mind the time necessary to move funds to FXOpen accounts, and that’s why he manually activates the deposits;
Now the cons:-in my last email I asked Andi for a “proof” of their trades, like MT4stats of his managed accounts, or the performance of traders, and I also asked how he splits the money between FXopen, LR pool and reserve funds. So far I haven’t received any answer to these two questions…
-about the plans, let’s analyse the bigger one, offering 1.8% daily. In myhyip forum Andi said they have 30% reserve fund, so it means only 70% will be used for trading? Don’t forget the 5% ref commission, so only 65% of principal is traded, meaning they have to earn around 2.77% profit from these 65% to being able to cover the 1.8% profit over the principal. But let’s not forget the admin and traders share here, meaning they ought to do 3% daily profit from the 65% of principal traded…which is a difficult job in my opinion.
I would like to hear Andi opinion’s about this, but my conclusion is: even if they are doing Forex trading, it’s quite improbable they can fully sustain the promised profit with it, and let’s not forget the inherent risk associated to Forex.
So
my score for sustainability will be 3/5, and I still have my doubts about their claims of Forex trading. But even if it is a pure hyip, then Andi is doing a great job, because it is already 51 days old, and I still don’t see too much advertising, meaning it’s getting a slow and gradual growth and still has plenty of room to grow.
Finally, the
overall score for
CWI will be
3.5/5, in my low-ROI scale, meaning we can compare this score to GNI, Nano, and mainly FXEuro. CIW offers good flexibility, but clearly lacks in sustainability against FXEuro, and if I gave 4.5 to FXEuro, then CIW only deserves 3.5 in my opinion.
And the
gold question: will it survive Christmas season? I think even treating it as a pure hyip I think it will, because as I said above: it still has plenty of room to grow, and it’s not a high-ROI hyip.
How much did I invested in CIW? Around 1/3 of my FXEuro investment, which translate in ~5% of my total money invested in hyips. Don’t forget it is Christmas so play safe.
